Cancellation Policy

If you are making a modification or cancelling an existing room reservation, you may do so up to 7 days prior to arrival for a suite reservation or by 4pm Pacific time, 1 day prior to arrival for guest rooms, to avoid a charge of 1 night’s room and tax. For each suite reservation, a deposit of 1 night’s room and tax will be applied to your method of payment at the time of booking. Cancellations must be received at least 7 days prior to the scheduled arrival to avoid a charge of the deposit. Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled arrival, forfeit 1 night room and tax charges. For guests arriving between July 1st and September 4th you must cancel 3 days prior to your arrival date.

Reservations with advanced purchase rates and other limited exclusions will be subject to the rate offer rules communicated at the time of booking. Please note that changes to the reservation will be subject to availability and any pricing changes or rate differences.

If you are booking via third-party travel professionals or online travel agencies, you are advised to contact the booking provider for information on their policies.

Guarantee Reservation

Reservations must be guaranteed by a credit card when you book your stay. A valid government issued photo ID will be required upon check-in. To cover incidentals, $250/day will be authorized on your credit or debit card.

Early Arrival | Late Departure | Early Departure

Check-in time is 4:00 pm and check-out time is 12:00 Noon. For early arrivals, please let us know in advance so we may prioritize your request. If we cannot accommodate your early arrival, we will gladly stow your luggage safely and securely. Late departure may result in a fee. If you check out or leave before your scheduled departure date, there may be a fee or rate adjustment.

Pet Policy

Shutters on the Beach is pleased to welcome your furry travel companion. Well-behaved dogs up to 25 pounds (maximum of 2 pets) are welcome at our pet-friendly luxury Santa Monica hotel. Restrictions may apply.

Smoking Policy

Shutters on the Beach is a strictly non-smoking hotel. All forms of smoking are prohibited. This includes cigarettes, e-cigarettes, cigars, marijuana or other detectable smoke. Smoking is not allowed in any public areas, food and beverage outlets or guest rooms. A minimum smoking fee of $500 will be assessed in the event smoking does occur in your guest rooms.

Recreation

We offer daily fitness classes on the beach, an outdoor heated pool, whirlpool spa, chaise lounges, private cabanas and towel service. Seating at our pool is on a first come first serve basis and reserved for registered guests only. Our Fitness Center is open 24 hours featuring Techno Gym and Peloton equipment.

Personal trainers, yoga and meditation instructors are available upon request at an additional cost.
